The Peter Gunn Theme

from Blue Train by Susie Blue and the Lonesome Fellas

/

about

Susie Blue and the Lonesome Fellas just dropped a new video! Enjoy the "Peter Gunn Theme" from their new album BLUE TRAIN.

Most people don't know that Henry Mancini wrote lyrics for the Peter Gunn Theme, specifically for the singer Sarah Vaughan who really jazzes it up in her big way. Susie and the band have a ton of fun rocking out to the outrageous and over the top lyrics, with Susie's plush vocals supported by a boisterous horn section featuring Eric Schneider on sax and Jack Gallagher on trombone. The song is propelled by Neal Alger on guitar and Chris Bernhardt slapping the bass, with Miles singing the groovy and period-style lyrics "So baby it's au revoir, adios, ciao ciao, goodbye!"
